Matcha is not only beautiful looking but tastes great too with the perfect addition of ingredients. If you’re looking to take a little hiatus from coffee considering giving matcha, a powdered green tea high in antioxidants, a try.
Try out this simple recipe for a dairy-free Matcha Latté!
The coconut oil and honey balance out any bitterness from the tea and the oil gives the drink a nice foamy/frothy top as pictured.
Here’s the brand of matcha I use:

Health Benefits
Green tea contains epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), a polyphenol that is thought to play a role in green tea’s anticancer and antioxidant effects. Cathechins have been found to be more potent free radical scavengers than vitamins E and C.
Numerous studies have shown green tea’s ability to block the formation of cancer-causing compounds, suppress the activation of carcinogens, and detoxify cancer-causing agents. Some studies also show that green tea may improve glucose tolerance and insulin sensitivity.
Green tea does contain caffeine, however it also contains an amino acid, l-theanine, which promotes a relaxed, yet focused mental state. One may not experience the “jittery” feeling that can accompany coffee due to the l-theanine present in green tea.
Enjoy!
